Wow! Where to start? Everything was perfect. The hotel is a comfortable mix of historic elements and modern swank. Upon checking in we immediately felt welcome. The clerk was very friendly and gave us wonderful information on the area. We had arrived about an hour before check-in time, but they were very accommodating by getting us in early. The room was arranged differently than those in most hotels, so it had more charm. Huge bathroom, separate area for dressing, a nice desk, and big windows. Very quiet to be next to the El. Beds were so comfortable with lots of soft pillows. The room had a Keurig machine and fridge. (Wish they had a microwave). Can't say enough about the staff. When I left in the mornings, they all shouted out "Have a great day!" When I came back, they asked about my day. There is a posh but comfortable bar and nice restaurant in the lobby. Food was very good and really reasonably priced for a hotel. Prices were about the same as normal restaurants in the area. (Burnt end tacos were fantastic.) The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from Union Station or a $10 taxi ride. There is an El stop right in front of hotel. So many things are within walking distance. Millenium Park and art museum 3 minutes. Theater District 10 minutes. River 10 minutes. Magnificent Mile 15 minutes. I was a bit nervous coming to Chicago with all the negative press I was hearing. I never once felt threatened. I will be traveling to Chicago often to visit my daughter, and this will be my basecamp.

The location of the hotel was wonderful. We came to Chicago for a concert. We could walk to the main attractions along Michigan Ave. Although Soldier Field was a bit of a trek, that was doable too. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The thing that makes this facility really shine is the staff. They were kind and helpful. They gave us advice on visiting attractions and even though we checked out, the hotel offered to hold our bags and keep the car valeted for the day while we explored. It was so helpful. The concierge representatives at the front desk were just amazing when we checked out. The gentleman who helped us with our car and bags was so personable. The gentleman that waited on us at the restaurant for breakfast at the hotel was very kind. We would come back in a heartbeat to this location because of the hospitality. It was a soft place to land.

Enrique was amazing! He suggested restaurants to go to and would point us in the direction we needed to head. He was bubbly all the time and always felt like a friend. The staff behind the counter were also amazing. They always greeted us when we came through. When they cleaned our room, the second day, they gave us bottled water right away because they knew we always asked for some when we got back from our day of adventure. I really was impressed on the customer service! We also had an open window that wouldn't close, and they sent maintenance right away to fix it.

The hotel location is great. Roughly central to all main attractions, we had great weather so walked to most. Room size was impressive for a city centre location and good value for money. The room was very comfortable and kept spotlessly clean. The hotel has a comfortable bar but no breakfast offering, this is not a problem however as there is a super cafe/backer right across the street. Just to mention the hotel is alongside the Loop, but we asked for a quiet room and were not disturbed at all. Will be our Hotel next time in Chicago!

John

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in the Loop. It's a 15 minute walk from Ogilvie Transportation Center and Union Station. It's also a block away from the Monroe red line station and the Washington/Wells station that most of the other el lines stop at. It's a 5 minute walk from the Art Institute and Millennium Park. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Beverly who gave me so many recommendations for things to do in the city.
